The Strand team has been celebrating with one of our clients who won a national accolade thanks to our innovative social media posts and ads.

We manage the award-winning social media for The Fox and Duck pub in Therfield, which has been named Digital Pub of the Year at the Greene King Pub Partners Night of Excellence Awards at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Winning this award twice shows that The Fox and Duck and Strand really do go together like fish and chips

'A boost for us all'

It is the second victory in this award category for The Fox and Duck, after its success in 2022. Judges commended the creativity of the pub’s promotions, and its willingness to have fun with its social media presence to engage customers.

Our MD Laura Pearce said: “We are over the moon to have helped The Fox and Duck win the Digital Pub of the Year award. A second victory in three years is no small feat and we’re just thrilled.

“We’re a dynamic team and totally immerse ourselves in our clients’ businesses, understand how they work and what they want to achieve. We don’t seek recognition for ourselves, but knowing we’ve helped a superb local business like The Fox and Duck win another award is great news and a boost for all of us.

'Roll on next year'

The Fox and Duck landlord Ivan Titmuss said: “We’re thrilled to receive this recognition and with the work we’ve been doing with Strand. Having won this award twice shows that The Fox and Duck and Strand really do go together like fish and chips. We’ve been really keen to become a true 21st-century pub with a social media presence to match, so it’s great to get this confirmation we’re succeeding in doing that. Roll on next year.”

To increase online engagement, Ivan has known to wear a bikini on a beach built at the pub, as well as dressing up as Scooby-Doo, Beetlejuice and James Bond. Other events, including a 24-hour darts marathon, the Hertfordshire Burger Eating Contest, group dog walking, an NHS hero evening and charity quizzes, all featured on the pub’s social media.

Andy Turner, Business Development Manager for Greene King Pub Partners, said: “Congratulations to Ivan and the team at The Fox and Duck for winning Digital Pub of the Year. The competition at the Night of Excellence Awards is fierce – this year we had over 250 entries! So, you have to be exceptional to win – and exceptional is what The Fox and Duck is.”
