Strand step up this September

It’s happening again! We’re delighted to announce that Strand PR will be partnering with Rooprai Spinal Trust in a bid to step our way to success.
In a month-long contest, which will see anyone, and everyone participate, this fully-inclusive event encourages walkers, runners and wheelchair users to take on the challenge through a brilliant ‘leveller system’; a multiplier to make it fairer for those with a disability to compete.
Get stepping for Steptember
Rooprai Spinal Trust will create multiple teams who will then compete to see who can triumph and clock up the greatest number of steps.
Last year, Team Rooprai finished ahead of Spinal Research having achieved a grand total of 67 million steps, with Team Strand contributing 2.5 million to the total! The event was shortlisted and recognised for its uniqueness and inclusivity at the 2020 Charity Virtual Event Awards hosted by Fundraising Everywhere.
When speaking about why we’re so keen to be involved, Adam McLaughlan, Senior Account Manager at Strand, said: “The fact is, once you’ve met the team behind Rooprai Spinal Trust, learned Marrianne’s story, and seen the work they do, you’d agree to crab crawl up Ben Nevis never mind dig out the Fitbit from the back of the draw you keep things you have *absolutely* no need for and do a bit more exercise than usual for a few weeks.”
Introducing team Red Hot Chilli Steppers
The event is created and run by Rasselbock Running who are giving entrants two options when signing up for the event. You can choose to receive your medal or donate the cost to Rooprai Spinal Trust.
Andy Uttridge, Co-Founder of Rooprai Spinal Trust, said: “We’re so excited to join forces with the Strand Team once more to take on our 6th annual step challenge. Together we’ll be trying to smash last year’s score and work our way up the leader board…leapfrogging some fellow Herts businesses along the way! As always, we’re extremely grateful for all the support Strand PR has given us over the last few years. Let’s do this.”
